吴玉环，博士，教授，植物学博士生导师，植物生态学/植物学硕士研究生导师，生物与医药专业硕士研究生导师。一直从事植物分类与生态学研究，近年着重研究方向：1. 苔藓植物分类修订；2. 药用植物资源挖掘；3. 植物生物活性及化学成分分析；4. 植物抗逆性及机理研究。研究结果不仅有助于深入了解植物对环境变化的适应机理，也为植物的开发利用及产业化进程提供相关的理论基础和新策略。

曾发表学术论文160多篇，并作为多家SCI杂志审稿专家，国家自然科学基金项目评审专家，北京市、重庆市、浙江省、贵州省、广东省、辽宁省、黑龙江省等多个省份的自然科学基金评审专家。从2008年至今担任中国植物学会苔藓专业委员会副主任。主持国家自然科学基金项目等8项国家级项目，2项政府间国际合作项目以及其他20多项科研项目。曾获国家自然科学二等奖、省级自然科学一等奖及省级青年科技奖各1次。
